Clearfield
The borough of Clearfield, which is the county seat, was incorporated in 1840. The downtown district is an appealing and interesting intermingling of historic homes and buildings, specialty shops and stores and Witmer Park along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Depending on the time of year, you may get an extra treat- a concert in the park, the Riverfront festival, or other exciting local events.
