Curwensville
Founded by John Curwen Sr. in 1799, Curwensville is seated along the banks of the West Branch of the Susquehanna. Rails to Trails runs through town, and visitors on foot as well as motoring will find several comfortable, hospitable places to stop and take a break. The Bucktail Monument serves as a reminder of the town’s proud Civil War heritage, as do several of the gravestones at Oak Hill Cemetery. While there don’t forget to stop at Starr Hill Winery, one of the official Groundhog Trail wineries.
Historic Stonework, Victorian architecture, and a warm retro feel mixed together make the Curwensville Walking Tour special.
