Historical Museums

Six museums and historical societies serve the Clearfield County area. Each has unique items, displays and exhibits that give visitors a sense of what life was like from the time of the area’s settlement, through good times and challenging times, and facets of life in-between.

Since facilities rely on volunteer service, we suggest calling ahead for current hours of operation or to schedule an appointment.

Several sites in Clearfield County are on the National Register of Historic Places. Among them are buildings at Parker Dam State Park, S.B.Elliott State Park, and select buildings throughout the county. Clearfield, DuBois and Coalport have National Historic District designations. For more information about each of them go to www.nationalregisterofhistoricplaces.com/PA/Clearfield/state.html.
