The

Ginny Baggett, a member of the
Winkler
Gallery of Fine Arts on Brady St, DuBois, has a
selection of prints and note cards at 1/2 price during the
month of March. Ginny's colorful silk-screens have won many
awards and have been featured in many area exhibits and art
festivals.
Remember

House Bed and Breakfast in Clearfield this
spring with a souvenir gift basket with goodies created by the
hosts Bruce and Ginny Baggett. Among the items included are a
variety of scented glycerin soaps made especially for the B&B,

who has sung with the Four Lads, and has contributed to one of

Discover the
tradition. March is
Maple
Sugaring
month at
Parker Dam State Park You can come learn how real
maple syrup is made. Learn the sweet story of maple sugaring,
how it was discovered, how it was made years ago, and how you
can make it today. Learn to identify maple trees in winter,
how to choose the right trees for tapping, where to place the
taps, and so on. A few lucky participants will tap a maple
tree, gather in the sap, and help out. Free taste samples for
all visitors. Programs will be held each Saturday and Sunday
throughout March at 2:00 p.m., except March 23rd. Meet at the
Sugar Shack, near Pavilion 7, just past the Cabin Road. Call
ahead and rent a cabin for the whole family and enjoy all the
outdoor activities the park has to offer. For more information

St.
Francis School in Downtown Clearfield, will hold their annual
St. Patrick's Day Bazaar
on Sunday, March 9th from 11 am-4 pm. A turkey dinner
with all the trimmings, Irish stew in bread bowls, Reuben
sandwiches and more will be available from 11-3 for eat in or
take out. Children's games, bake sale, craft show, Chinese
auction and lots and lots of themed baskets and
business-donated raffles! Great music entertainment this year!
DJ Karate Studios will be demonstrating from 1 pm-2 pm,
nationwide magician, Richard Benninghoff, will be thrilling
the crowds from 12 pm-2 pm. Don't miss your chance to win
$10,000; only 250 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $100 each
and partial tickets are available. We are also offering a
chance to win $2,000 Saint Francis School tuition credit for
the 08-09 school year, only $25 per chance! To purchase a

The Strawberry
Tree in
downtown Curwensville will hold its
Spring Cleaning Sale March
19 - 22. There'll be lots and lots of bargains as we
clean house for Spring. This friendly old house with gifts
from the heart is a great place to find everything you need
for upcoming birthdays and events. After shopping have a meal
at the Central Restaurant on Filbert Street. Rumor has it this
is the best place in the area for a steak and the price is
right.
On
Saturday March 22, the
DuBois Country Club
is having
Breakfast with the Easter
Bunny. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, Visit from the
Easter Bunny, Pictures, Hat Parade, and "Build an Animal".
Prizes, gifts, and a delicious Breakfast. It will be from
10:00am till 12:00pm. Reservations Please.
The
Country Club’s Easter Sunday Extravaganza will be from 11:00
till 2:00 on Easter Sunday the 23rd. Reservations are a must.

Allegheny Mountain Chapter of
Trout Unlimited
is having a free fly tying demonstration Friday March 28th
10am to 8pm, Saturday March 29th 9am to 5pm, and Sunday March
30th noon to 4pm in the window display of Jim’s Sports Center
26 N. 2nd Street in downtown Clearfield. Stop by and watch
some of the areas best fly tyers making hand made trout
fishing flies (lures) from the simple to the very
complicated. You can ask questions about fly-fishing and fly
tying. Open to the public and all ages are welcome! For more

a great time of year to enjoy the waters of the West Branch of
the Susquehanna River. Bring your kayak/canoe or rent one from
McCracken Canoe
and enjoy the area waters. If you’re an experienced boater you

Emporium Race
