It’s an experience you will never forget. The sound of a bull bugling will send chills up your spine. So while you are visiting our small town, stop in and shop our Explore It store, where you will find all kinds of clothing and gifts.

Elk Visitor Center

The largest free-roaming elk herd east of the Mississippi River is found in Benezette and the area surrounding it. The center offers a way for you to learn and explore every aspect of the Pennsylvania Elk with their education classroom. There is a 4D theatre allowing you to have the full PA Wilds experience. The live outdoor cam allows you to browse the grounds from inside the center, or the trails surrounding the property allow you to explore on foot. The educational opportunities are endless at the center, with it being an environmentally friendly building. Hours of operation are available on the website: elkcountryvisitorcenter.com. The best time to visit is  September – October. If you visit us in the fall, we will have a catered meal for guests while you take turns riding a wagon pulled by Clydesdales that will take you through the heart of the elk herd.
