Plan you trip ahead so you can make it educational and productive. The itineraries are meant to give you 6 to 8 hours of activity each day excluding driving time, meals, and additional stops. . Stop 1 (Estimated Time - 1 hour) Kunes Farm, 917 Keewayden Road, Frenchville, PA 16836, (814) 263-4638 - Apples, yum. There's something rejuvenating about seeing your favorite snack's path from beginning to end. At Kunes Farm, apples are harvested onsite, washed, sorted then sold. Be sure to ask about the Keewayden Hard Cider.  Open Mid July - Mid November from 10am - 5pm  Every Saturday in March Parker Dam State Park harvests maple for maple syrup. This is a great way to learn the entire process behind maple syrup.   Stop 2 (Estimated Time - 1.5 hours) Dream Catchers Farm & Fiber Mill, 913 McClarren Road, (814) 339-7347, West Decatur, PA  16878 -When it comes to Alpaca farms, Dream Catchers farm & fiber Mill takes you to the next level. Meet & greet the alpacas. Tammy will show you how the fiber is taken from the animal and turned into the finished product. You will enjoy the beauty of nature, the angelic behavior of the animal & the endless opportunities to create items (clothing, scarves, hats, gloves, socks, etc.) through the blending, dying, spinning, knitting and weaving of the fur. You’re guaranteed to leave Dream Catchers Farm with a new appreciation for the alpaca. Open early spring through ate fall. Call ahead for appointment (814) 339-7347.   Stop 3 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Bee Kind Winery, 525 Carbon Mine Road, Clearfield, Pa  16830, (814) 762-8210-Nestled comfortably alongside the Susquehanna River in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds.  Surrounded by gardens of Irises, Hostas, and other flowering perennials, the magnificent locale of the Winery inspires us every day to make wine that reflects the beauty of the land itself. You can hike, paddle or bike to this winery to try your choice of nearly 20 wines. Open year round Friday - Sunday or by appointment.     Stop 4 (Estimated Time - 1-2 hours) Tammy's Garden, 21 Electric Avenue, Clearfield, PA  16830, (814) 765-2566- Enjoy the peaceful country atmosphere of a true garden center while shopping at Tammy’s Garden in Clearfield. Tammy and her staff have 25 years of experience and new ideas to offer anyone with a green thumb. A full service garden center that pot and plant specialty annuals and have one of the area’s most complete perennial  selections. Groups: Let Tammy and her staff give you a tour and then get hands- on experience by potting your own plant to take home.   Stop 5 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Starr Hill Vineyard & Winery, 861 Bailey Road, Curwensville, PA  16833, (814) 236-0910 - Located in Curwensville owner Ken Starr learned the art of wine making from his father in 1952. He started making his own wine in 1977 and now four generations of wine makers are bottling the largest selection of wine in the county. While at Starr Hill you can visit the gift shop featuring Polish pottery, taste one of their many wines and take a tour of the entire wine making product.  Open year round Monday - Friday.   A great add-on to this itinerary would be to complete the Groundhog Wine Trail. This is a great place to get your fresh produce and learn the skills of being a horticulturist.

Stop 1 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Benezette Wines, 196 Second Street, Benezette, PA  15821, 814-787-4000 - One of the area's newest wineries shares its fame with the Pennsylvania Elk. This winery has an outdoor patio that backs up to a 200 year old oak tree and borders State Game Lands.  The gift shop also displays photos and memorabilia of the history of the Benezette Area. Open 7 days a week from 11am -7pm.  If you are traveling in the area in late May/June be sure to enjoy the miles of Pennsylvania's State Flower, the Mountain Laurel.   Stop 2 (Estimated Time - 1.5 hours) Wapiti Ridge Winery, 2560 Bennetts Valley Hwy., DuBois, PA 15801 (814) 371-7022- Wapiti Ridge Wine Cellars opened for business December 8, 2011. All of our wines are produced and bottled right here. We look forward to your visit for complimentary tasting and tour.  Enjoy our outdoor area this spring and view the amazing elk just a few miles away. Wednesday- Thurs. 11:00am to 6:00pm, Friday-Saturday 11:00am to 8:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm to 6:00pm. (814) 371-5700   Stop 3 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Laurel Mountain Winery, 1754 Old Grade Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840, (814) 371-7022- Join us and let our friendly and knowledgeable staff pour a taste of our national and state award winning wines. Tour the winery and grounds, view our antique tool museum, relax in our pavilion, and experience how our Eastern variety wines are grown and produced.  Winery hours: Wed-Sun 10:00-6:00, Closed Major Holidays.    Stop 4 (Estimated Time - 1.5 hours) Evergreen Valley Vineyards, 752 Evergreen Road, Luthersburg PA 15848, (814) 583-7575-Nestled in a sheltered valley in the cool central highlands of Pennsylvania, near the highest point on I-80 East of the Mississippi River, Evergreen Valley Vineyards produces fine European wine grapes. In the vineyard as well as in the winery, we work in partnership with the grapes to help bring out the fine flavors imparted by our unique climate, thus creating award winning wines of distinctive styles for your enjoyment.  Friday - Sunday, 11am to 6 pm except Holidays.    Stop 5 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Amish Community SR 410 - Yes Clearfield County has a small Amish population. If you like homemade desserts, jellies, jams and spreads you are in the right spot.  As you cruise the country roads making sure to stay in pace with the slow lifestyle you will find many stores and specialty shops selling the necessities from a less stressful time.    Stop 6 (Estimated Time - 2 hours) Ultimate Alpaca,  886 Nebo  Road, Mahaffey, PA 15757, (814) 277-4580- Established in 2008, Ultimate Alpacas has quickly grown into the most well known alpaca farm in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. With 75 alpacas, all Huacaya, Ultimate Alpacas continues to breed for the "Ultimate Alpaca". Our feature herdsires are  SA Peruvian Tahoe, Ultimate's Silver Sheriff, and Peruvian Crown Prince.     If you are bringing a group of 10 or more contact our office and let us organize a guided tour. This itinerary could fill as much as 4 days when you add driving time, meals and the add-on features. Be sure to stay at one of our partnering properties while you visit Clearfield County.

The Keystone Elk Country Alliance's 10th annual Ride for the Elk Motorcycle ride sponsored by GM Equipment will be held Saturday and Sunday July 16th and 17th. Registration will begin at 10am on July 16th at the Hitching Post in DuBois. Prepare yourself for an exciting ride through the Pa Wilds where you will get to experience some great stops that will include games, a meal and prizes. The 2nd Annual Lumberjack Chainsaw Carvers Event will take place at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds 5615 Park St, Clearfield, PA 16830 on May 22nd (10 a.m. - 8 p.m.) and May 23rd (10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). There will be a live auction starting at 3 p.m. on May 23rd. (Free admission) ​ This event will also have a Food Court (May 20 - May 23rd) and a Craft Fair (May 22nd - May 23rd).
