March is typically maple sugaring season here at Parker Dam, but the process is very weather dependent—and as we have been experiencing, the weather can be fickle. Regardless, we will be covering how maple sugaring started, how the practice has changed over the years (and yet remained the same), and how the big producers make syrup, and how you can make it in your own back yard. From identifying maple trees in winter, to where and how to tap, to what you can use to gather the sap, and finally how to turn that fresh maple sap into pure maple syrup. Taste samples at the conclusion of the program Demonstration Dates: Each demonstration starts at 2:00pm. March 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th,16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, and 30th

Later he was adopted into a loving, Christian family growing up on the Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College Campus. He hopes to pursue songwriting and music. The concert will feature some of Mathias's original songs. The college is going through a time of exciting changes, working toward Swazi academic accreditation, introducing new programs and also planning building projects to generate income. Pennsylvania, known as the “Covered Bridge Capital of the World,” was once home to more than 1,500 scenic and romantic covered bridges which spanned the state’s rivers. Today only 200 of these historic passages remain; one of which is the McGees Mills Covered Bridge. Standing the test of time, the McGees Mills Covered Bridge is the last of its kind crossing the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, as well as the only covered bridge in Clearfield County. Built by Thomas McGee from local hand hewed white pine timbers in 1873, this single span Burr arch truss bridge, protected for generations by its gabled roof, is full of historical romance and character. Under the bridge, thousands of river rafts loaded with timber floated the West Branch of the Susquehanna River - the lifeline which helped build a nation - the last of which to pass under in 1938. Over 100 years since its erection, the McGees Mills Covered Bridge symbolizes the creation of a young nation, carved out of the wilderness that was and still is Clearfield County. Historically and scenically, this bridge offers an experience unlike others. Visitors of McGees Mills Covered Bridge may picnic on the banks of the river under the channel, imagining the horse and buggy riding through the old passage; the lumber floating down the stream, taking in that old-fashioned romantic nostalgia that is the McGees Mills Covered Bridge. After a century of use, Clearfield County's only covered bridge was renovated in 1978 and again in the mid-1990s following damage by a heavy snowfall. Adjacent to picnic grove. Near Mahaffey on Route 219, just south of intersection of Route 219 and Route 36. Covered Bridge Road Mahaffey, PA 15757
