Two Day Itinerary Day 1 Depart for Elk Country Visitor Center Enjoy the beautiful scenery and fall foliage as we travel on the West Branch Susquehanna Byway and the Elk Scenic Byway through the Quehanna Wilds. As we tour you will learn that the wilds has something for everyone. The Elk Country Visitor Center is the premier location in the Northeastern United States for seeing and experiencing elk in a natural setting. The Visitor Center was designed to provide live, year round opportunities to see and hear these amazing animals ... from trails, viewing areas and from our indoor Great Room. You can enrich your visit by exploring an array of educational exhibits, multimedia experiences and hands-on learning opportunities. There is something for everyone ... children, families and visitors of all kinds. And of course, just beyond our Visitor Center lies the Pennsylvania Wilds with over two million acres of rivers, forests, towns and historical sites. Parker Dam State Park (Lunch will be eaten during presentation) This park has a little bit of everything….trails, swimming, educational programs and camping!! You will also learn about neighboring state park S.B. Elliott State Park home to one of the state’s National Historic Sites for Civilian Conservation Corps architecture. Grice Clearfield Community Museum Over 70 antique and classic auto's as well as over 700 trophy game mounts of animals from around the world. You will learn the story of Scoot and Janet Grice and the historical highlights of their business and community contribution. Day 2 Bee Kind Winery Newest winery in Clearfield County!! Bee Kind Winery is nestled comfortably alongside the Susquehanna River, named by the 2012 Best Adventure Destination by National Geographic, in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds. Surrounded by gardens of Irises, Hostas, and other flowering perennials, the magnificent locale of the Winery inspires us every day to make wine that reflects the beauty of this land we love. Curwensville Lake and Recreation Area Beautiful Lake that offers camping, fishing, swimming and trails. If you’re lucky you may catch a glimpse of a Bald Eagle soaring through the sky!! Bilger’s Rocks The geological formations known as Bilger's Rocks is a breathtaking scenic wonder featuring caves, cliffs, passageways, climbing routes, and other unusual features estimated to be between 316-320 million years old. The adjacent park includes a pavilion, playground, concession stand, picnic tables, camping and recreational areas, restrooms, and an open-air stage all open to the public.
