Valentine’s Day Horror Short Film Screening, hosted by NAFCo as part of their Dinner and Movie series will be held on February 14, 2020 at 6:00 pm upstairs at the DuBois Diner, 50 W Dubois Ave # D, DuBois, PA 15801. Featured filmmaker of the month will be Don Swanson from White Mill Crossing, PA. Don will present the award winning psychological horror short “Occurrence at Mills Creek” along with a selection of other short films (see listings in discussion below) In addition he will talk about the production of the films, and answer questions from the audience. Mixer begins at 6, order dinner at 6:30, film session begins at 7:30. There is no charge for the event, aside from what you order for dinner. Donations to NAFCo will be accepted. Come and enjoy an evening of dinner, watch some well-made short films, and meet and talk with the filmmaker himself. Get involved in the local film community. NAFCo is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in DuBois whose purpose if the promotion of filmmaking in the Northern Appalachian region.

The Northern Appalachian Film Collective will be presenting as a part of their Dinner and Movie series a series of short films made by filmmaker Phoebe Frear.  The event will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 6:00 pm upstairs at the DuBois Diner, 50 W Dubois Ave # D, DuBois, PA 15801.  Phoebe has been involved as part of the production crew in several feature length motion pictures and runs her own successful video production company, Elephant Trunk Films in Williamsport.  She will be presenting: Pretty Girl - Keystone Ska Exchange music video (3 minutes), Slow Decline - Eric Val music video (5 minutes), The Greatest Gift, 48 hour film submission (5 minutes), Moon and Raven - story based commercial (3 minutes), Anarchy's Son - Audiobox, music video (4 minutes), Apocalypse cookie (4:49), Williamsport's Murals (5:08), Love of Music from The Ground Floor (10:31), and Remember to Forget Me (26 minutes), The last film involves human trafficking and drug use and may be inappropriate for children under 13. In addition she will talk about the production of the films, and answer questions from the audience.  Mixer begins at 6, order dinner at 6:30, film session begins at 7:15.  There is no charge for the film screenings, dinner may be purchased from the DuBois Diner staff.  Donations to NAFCo will be accepted. Come and enjoy an evening of dinner, watch some well-made short films, and meet and talk with the filmmaker herself.   Get involved in the local film community and support local filmmaking. Curwensville Lake has always welcomed pets in the campground and park (leashed) and in the dog park where they can be free to play but this weekend we are taking a little extra care to make your furry friend feel extra special. Camp with us and receive a special dog treat at check-in, pet-themed door prize, photo booth for dogs, toys at the dog park, rubber duck retrieving game at the dog swimming area, pet parade in the campground, and more. Join us Sunday July 21st for our 2nd Annual Doggie Paddle. A Rubber Doggie Race down the Susquehanna River. 500 Rubber Doggies will race down the Susquehanna River. The First 5 will win CASH Prizes. 1st Place is $1,000! Event will be held at the Dented Keg starting at 3pm. Doggie Race will begin at 5pm from the Market Street Bridge. The DuBois Library is Revamping D&D. The Dragons of Icespire Peak Shall once again awaken, under the guidance of a seasoned new master. Summing New Recuits: Fresh adventureres aged 13 and above. All new players must call and register.  The DuBois Public Library is hosting a 4 session game of Dungeons and Dragons beginning in February on the second Saturday of every month ending in May. Games are from 10am to 2pm at the DuBois Library. Players who are interested should contact the library as the included image details. There with be a Session Zero meeting on February 8th at 4pm to 545pm to provide information to anyone interested.
